IHL stated in its most recent report, Bad Leftovers: How Grocery Left Billions on the Table, that grocers and mass merchants missed out on $384B in sales due to out-of-stocks, and $85B was newly exposed due to more ecommerce orders.
But, what it found in its surveys how retailers with CGO solutions like ours were able to perform better is what’s exciting for everyone with shelves and products on them (or lack-thereof).
“In the dry grocery and deli areas, those using CAO saw over 9% higher sales in 2020. For beverages, 7.2% higher sales and 18% higher ecommerce sales when CAO was used. And then in the meat/produce areas, users of CAO saw 18.4% higher sales overall and over 80% higher ecommerce sales (124% higher click and collect revenues) compared to peers that did not. We also saw that those who used CAO were further along in optimizing their click and collect and local delivery technologies and processes.”
There’s alot more where that came from (and you can download the full report below), but suffice it to say that this definitively proves – through anonymous retailer surveys – that CGO not only works, but helps those with it beat the competition.
